car dealerships

car dealershipsDealership, wheelership, feelership, zealership, holymonkeyshipt, fukcmeuptheship.I'm playing the word game, one of the obessive-compulsive behaviors that deserves medication. And I've got it too, right in my desk in silver flask. I'm going to need to medicate myself several times this afternoon. Being bent over the cashier's desk at a car dealership will do that to you.Yes, I'm getting screwed and not the good kind. The extended warranty on my wife's car is not doing what it's supposed to do. Unless it's only purpose is to cause me grief. It does that very well.I purchased an extended warranty at the insistance of the dealer who sold us the car. "It'll save you money" he promised. So far, every single claim has been catagorically denied. It started with a bum steering pump, a system covered under our warranty. A few hours later I was informed a 3 dollar rubber hanger failed and caused the exhaust to burn through. The three dollar part was not covered under my warranty nor was any damage caused by its failure. Bend over #1.A few weeks later the wife calls from Lake Arrowhead. The car is dead, real dead. Four days later I get a call from the dealership claiming the oil is bad. "you mean the new Motul Synthetic I just put in it?" I asked."Yeah, it's bad. You owe us $8500 for a new engine"Bend over #2.Yesterday the AC system began spewing great gobs of white smoke, I don't think it was supposed to do that. The car then stopped in the middle of the road and refused to budge. Three days later I get a call."Yeah, um, you have an aftermarket radio. It, um, is wired wrong. The warranty doesn't cover aftermarket radios.""You mean the radio we intsalled four years ago?  The radio that worked great for years? The radio that is the only thing still functional in the car?" I asked."Yeah, that radio. And bring your checkbook."Bend over #3.Medication time. Ok, better. So yeah, I'm not having much luck with my stealership, er, I mean dealership.I still love this car but have serious reservations on its dealership service. And I want to believe my experience is an anomoly rather than norm.Got a favorite dealership? Got a horror story? I'd love to hear about it.Read More | Digg It | Add to del.icio.us
